In today’s society a lot is asked of an employer. Workload leads to stress and stress leads to illness. To improve general health and work satisfaction, a burn-out prevention training is offered for individuals.

The training encompasses six sessions of an hour each. A questionnaire is filled out in advance to measure personality traits and levels of stress. During the training you will look at how to reduce stress symptoms, how to tackle workload, and how to regain a healthy balance between demands and energy. You learn how to recognize alarming signals and become aware of your own strengths. As a result, you will feel fitter and will be more in control of your own resilience.

When to follow a training?
* Do you have an indefinable feeling that something is gnawing at you? Vague health complaints such as fatigue and concentration problems? Headache?
* Do you have trouble sleeping? Do you worry a lot?
* Are you suffering from stress? Workload? Are you unhappy at work or are there problems at home? Contemplating calling off sick?
* Are you demanding a lot of yourself? Do you have perfectionistic tendencies? Do you have trouble saying “no”?

If you recognize yourself in some of the above questions, you would probably benefit by following a burn-out prevention training.

Do you feel less assertive at times? Do you struggle to stand up to your own opinion? Do you feel awkward in social situations and insecure about making small talk? Then an assertiveness training might be the thing for you. Being assertive means standing up for yourself and having the courage to respectfully say what you feel, think and want towards others. It is not always easy to behave assertively. Sometimes one is afraid of a conflict, or one feels unentitled to be able to speak their mind freely. An assertiveness training might also be useful if you find yourself being too dominant in contact with others.

This training has a practical approach. The differences between unassertiveness , assertiveness and aggressiveness will be looked at. Different ways of communicating will be discussed and practiced. By means of exercises and homework you will receive insight into your own behavior and communicating skills. How to give criticism, or how to express an opinion, are a few of the aspects which will receive attention in this training.

According to cognitive therapy, it is largely our thinking about events that leads to emotional and behavioral upset. One of the primary goals of cognitive therapy is to diminish or even totally eradicate the self-destructive beliefs and cognitive processes that lead to disappointing or upsetting interactions with the world. With an emphasis on the present, you will be taught how to examine your unhelpful thoughts and change them. As a result you will be able to think and behave in a manner that is more constructive and perceptive, permitting a better quality of life.

To master the technique a lot of practice and guidance is needed. The training encompasses four sessions, the first two within two weeks, and the last two will be spread over two months.
